Caring Aggie Mentoring Program - C.A.M.P.
C.A.M.P. is a long-term mentoring program through the Houston A&M Club where volunteers meet disadvantaged third grade students and mentor them through their high school graduation
Molding Minds since 2005
C.A.M.P. is not designed to tutor students, but rather to provide a fun weekend activity for younger students and to offer older students monthly exposure to careers through visits to four-year universities, two-year colleges, trade schools, or military institutions during the school year.
The range of events includes attending professional sports games, trips to the zoo or beach, campus tours of Texas A&M, and the highly favored visit to a working ranch.
Additionally, C.A.M.P. supports the Texas A&M University STEM camp in the summer for interested students. C.A.M.P. has established several endowed scholarships at Texas A&M University and Houston Community College for students who complete the C.A.M.P. program.
This year marks the nineteenth anniversary of C.A.M.P., and volunteers are already busy planning.
